Blah blah blah.
Basically, I have been writing since I could walk.
I started writing with crayons on the wall behind the living room curtains. (Found and punished by my mother at a very early age—before kindergarten.) Another early attempt at writing before learning my abc’s involved taking pen and pencil to the ‘Elementary Webster’s Dictionary’ and finishing out empty lines in scribbles.
During the teen years, emotional poetry was written, often. Also there were attempts at journals, but without much consistent success. A few very poorly written stories were begun but not finished.
As a young parent, besides reading to and with my children at bedtime, they would give me specific details that they wanted in their bedtime story. I would make these up on demand. This reminded me of an early English college professor who tried to encourage me to change majors from Accounting to English Literature. (I didn’t listen.)
What you have before you, is a culmination of what focusing on being a writer (whatever that means) and a student of writing has evolved since 2003. After a few wild tangent diversions into other career choices, but unable to quit writing, this is the result.
For those who are familiar with the Sinister story, the next in the series is in rough draft form and will be published on my Patreon website. In the footer below you will find a link to that website. Basically for a buck a month you can read a post of the continuing story.
